Street parking at meters, $1 per hour, can park 1 to 2 hours, depending upon meter; Independent surface lots, $7 & up, all day — they are located on E. Larned at Brush and at Beaubien, and all around downtown; Cobo Center Roof Parking, $10, all day; Port Atwater Garage, 200 Beaubien off E. Jefferson, near RenCen, $6 per hour, $20 max. Can walk through RenCen and then over Skywalk to Millender Center where the Courtyard Hotel is located. Courtyard Hotel entrance is on the first level; People Mover transportation stations are near many parking areas. People Mover rides cost 75 cents, and there is a stop in the Millender Center.

“Foundations of Freedom: Healing for Detroit” was held June 21, 2014 at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History.
The C.H. Wright Museum is conveniently located on Warren, between I-75 and Woodward, next to the Michigan Science Center. The secure Cultural Center parking lot behind the museum (#1 below) is $5 before 4 pm; enter from John R Street, a one-way street heading south. There is also free parking on Brush Street, and metered parking on Warren and Farnsworth. There is a handicap entrance on the west side of the building, the Farnsworth Street Entrance.
